| For Carla Diana interaction design is about bringing about intuition with our physical objects. For her this means moving beyond the black rectangle of industrial design. Diana remarks that now we are entering what she calls the perfect storm of interaction design made available by advances in robotics, affordable sensors, object tagging, wireless communications, and broadband internet connectivity. |
In addition, Diana maintains an independent practice which includes a line of digitally distributed furniture, a series of sound-based sculptural installations and a selection of pieces that are best described as dynamic "virtual objects."

Speaking at the recent TEDxEmory event, Diana explored design implications for the internet of things.
